One day Charity suddenly broke out in a rash across her face and body. She believed it was an
allergic reaction and said that eating chocolate usually helped clear it up, so I rushed to the store
to buy some.
As I approached the entrance, a woman standing near the door stopped me and said something
unexpected.
“If you bring her to me, I will heal her.”
I was caught completely off guard.
“Who?” I asked.
“Your girlfriend,” she replied. “I know she’s sick. It’s me. I’m in another body. I can heal her.”
By that time I had already started walking into the store, confused and trying to understand what
had just happened.
How did she know Charity was sick?
Why would she say something like that to me?
I walked through the store replaying the moment in my mind. When I came back outside, the
woman was gone.
She had disappeared.
Looking back, I realized that moment still carried meaning even though I did not fully
understand it.
According to God’s plan, Charity became sick, which led me to the store, where I encountered
this woman who spoke words that only someone aware of the situation could have known.
It reminded me of the words in Mark 13:21–23, where Jesus warns that many signs and wonders
will appear, and we must discern them carefully.
The moment did not dramatically change my life, but it became another reminder that the
spiritual world sometimes intersects with the physical in ways we cannot easily explain.
And it added to the pattern of experiences that continued shaping my understanding of how God
moves within the details of life.
