The Parking Space

When I was twenty-eight years old, I stopped at a casino parking lot to send a text message.

I drove around the lot for a few minutes looking for a parking space until I finally found one.

When I pulled into the space, I looked over and saw someone sitting in the car next to me.

It was my friend Donnie.

The interesting part was that I had been thinking about him recently, even though we hadn’t seen

each other in several years.

Out of the entire parking lot, we ended up parking next to each other at the exact same moment.

I began asking myself the same question that had appeared many times before:

What are the chances?

How could I think about someone I hadn’t seen in years and then end up parking beside him in

the only available space?

Moments like this became another sign in my life.

They reminded me that our lives may be unfolding according to something greater than

coincidence.

We were simply living our lives naturally, but spiritually we were standing exactly where we

were meant to be.
