When I was fourteen, someone borrowed my uncle’s truck and never returned it.
One day I decided to go look for it, even though I had no idea where it might be.
As I walked, I heard the familiar voice inside my head guiding me where to go. At the time I
dismissed it as intuition.
After fifteen or twenty minutes of walking, I saw it.
My uncle’s truck was parked in a driveway.
It was almost as if I had been led directly to it.
I got inside using my uncle’s spare key and started the engine. It was the first time I had ever
driven a car.
Before I knew it, I had accidentally entered the freeway with traffic moving all around me. Panic
started to set in.
Then the voice spoke again:
"Don’t panic. Stay calm. You’ve got this."
I held on to that guidance, focused, and drove the truck safely back home.
No one knew what had just happened.
No one knew I had been guided to find the truck.
No one knew I had help making it safely home.
But in that moment something deeper was happening.
I was learning how to listen.
That experience strengthened my relationship with the voice that had been guiding me since
childhood.
It taught me that everything I needed was already within me, and that when I trusted that
guidance, the path would reveal itself.
Isaiah 30:21
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’”
